Upload guide
Prepare your list.
Upload a file, confirm the columns, and Audience Sync builds a company, contact or exclusion audience in your ads account. Here is what it accepts and what it matches on.
File formats
Two formats, one audience per file.
CSV files
Comma-separated values with a header row. Export one from any spreadsheet or tool you already use.
Excel files (.xlsx)
Pick the sheet and the row that holds the column headers, so titles or notes above the table don't get in the way.
One file, one audience
To update an audience, upload a new version of its file. Only the rows that were added or removed are sent.
Uploaded files are deleted after processing. Only hashed emails and the matching columns are kept.
Matching fields
More columns, better matches.
Audience Sync recognizes common header names and suggests the mapping. You confirm it before anything is sent.
Required, at least one
Optional
Sending both name and domain gives the best match rate.
Required
Optional
Work emails match best. Invalid emails are skipped and listed in the upload summary.
Destination
Your ads account, nothing else touched.
Sign in with a user who has an advertiser role on the ad account. Audience Sync creates and updates only the audiences it made, and reads back their match rate, size and status.
What we write
- Company audiences
- Contact audiences
- Exclusion audiences, for customers, employees or any list you want to keep ads away from
What we read back
- Match rate and audience size
- Whether each audience is ready to run
